JBL ASH6118 — 18" Folded Horn Passive Subwoofer Hire

One of JBL's most powerful horn-loaded subwoofers and a serious piece of professional touring and installation hardware. The JBL ASH6118 is available for passive subwoofer hire across Northamptonshire, the East Midlands and the wider UK through Northants Event Solutions — available individually or in multiples for larger system builds.

The ASH6118 houses a single 460mm (18") JBL 2242H SVG (Super Vented Gap) driver in a slow-expansion folded horn enclosure — a fundamentally different design to a conventional ported subwoofer, delivering higher sensitivity, greater efficiency and deeper punch at equivalent power input. Rated at 1,200W AES power handling (4,800W peak) with a frequency range extending to 25Hz in single cabinet configuration — dropping to 24Hz in pairs and 22Hz in a four-box array. Maximum SPL of 133dB continuous (139dB peak) in single half-space configuration. JBL design this cabinet to be deployed in multiples: 2 cabinets minimum, 4 cabinets optimum for full system performance. Stacked pairs or cardioid sub arrays using four cabinets give the output levels expected for club nights, live music events and festival stages. 13-ply exterior grade birch plywood construction with NL4 Neutrik Speakon and barrier strip connections. Requires a dedicated amplifier channel with DSP crossover and limiting — pairs directly with our Linea Research 44M20 and 48M20 amplifier hire inventory for a properly specified high-output system.
